October 1, Preliminary results of Recount in 12th Plymouth

While the results are still preliminary, it appears that Olly deMacedo has edged out Paul Curtis in the Republican primary.  While a couple of communities have vote challenges (Kingston 88, Plymouth 150), deMacedo appears to have garnered 785 votes to Curtis's 671.
Prior to the beginning of the recount, the Secretary of State delived instructions to the Town Clerks that only votes within the ballot area for Representative are to be reviewed and counted.  There had been concern about how to deal with stickers and names written in other areas of the ballot.
   Unofficial tally, as of 10/1/2006:
Halifax: 58 for Curtis, 27 for deMacedo
Plympton: 46 for Curtis, 55 for deMacedo
Middleboro: 72 for Curtis, 65 for deMacedo
Kingston: 154 for Curtis, 347 for deMacedo
Plymouth: 364 for Curtis, 224 for deMacedo
Dusbury: 67 for Curtis, 67 for deMacedo
