CARMEN’S UNION ENDORSES HEDLUND - July 09, 2006
Hedlund proud of his record of fighting for the hard working men and women of his district
Saying he has “been a great asset to the working men and women” of his district, the Boston Carnmen’s Union Local 589 has endorsed the reelection campaign of State Senator Bob Hedlund.
The Boston Carnmen’s Union Local 589 of the Amalgamated Transit Union, AFL/CIO-CLC represents thousands of MBTA transit professionals, including more than 500 members in Senator Hedlund’s Plymouth and Norfolk district.
In their early endorsement announcement of Hedlund, the Carmen’s Union further stated “The Carmen’s Union feels very fortunate to have a friend of your stature and integrity running for reelection to the Massachusetts State Senate.”
“This endorsement is a true honor,” said Hedlund. “The Boston Carmen’s Union is a hardworking group of men and women who provide skilled and dedicate services to the Commonwealth. It is an honor to have them supporting my reelection campaign.” Hedlund further stated, “I am proud that my record in the Senate of standing with the work ing families of my district is being recognized. I will be sure to continue fighting for working men and women if fortunate enough to be reelected to the Senate in November.”
