July 7, JONES MARCHES IN FOUR PARADES, LAUNCHES ADVERTISEMENTS AND ACCOMPLISHES MASSIVE GRASS ROOTS PULSE: WHERE WAS BILL DELAHUNT?

Cape Cod, South Shore and Quincy, Massachusetts—

Incumbent Congressman William Delahunt failed to appear at a single Independence Day parade or celebration in his district over the past holiday weekend.
Challenger Mike Jones and his highly coordinated campaign team marched in parades in Orleans, Plymouth, Duxbury, and Quincy, while also running radio ads on the South Shore and Cape and Islands. In addition, over 100 Jones volunteers participated in sign stand-outs at intersections throughout the South Shore and draped huge banners over bridges on Rt. 3 and Rt. 6.
Jones and his team ended the weekend by marching through Delahunt’s own neighborhood in the Squantum, Quincy parade. Jones was greeted warmly by Delahunt’s neighbors and shook hands with voters while introducing himself along the parade route. Delahunt failed to RSVP for the event and did not attend.
“I’ve been saying we were the little engine that could for a while. If this weekend is any representation of November 2, I am more confident than ever,” an enthusiastic Jones responded.
“I will go anywhere, anytime to convey my mainstream message to voters who want a Congressman willing to work, and fight, for our communities,” said Jones.
“I will show up on major holidays and make myself accountable to the voters,” said Jones.
Copies of the radio ads, featuring Justine Kirkwood, one of Mike’s former teachers in Orleans, and Brett Jones, Mike’s wife, will be available online at www.jonesforuscongress.org and upon request.
